Savi® RFID Fixed Infrastructure™
Savi's Fixed RFID Infrastructure consists of Savi Readers, Savi Signposts and Savi Signpost-Readers. This comprises the hardware network that captures data from RFID-tagged assets and shipments that then get relayed to enterprise-level software, such as Savi SmartChain®.
Savi Readers
The Savi SR-650 Fixed Reader is part of an innovative, reliable solution for real-time, end-to-end visibility of goods and critical assets moving through supply chains. The SR-650 is available in an ISO-only configuration, as well as a dual-frequency mode configuration.
The ISO-only SR-650 supports all ISO 18000-7 compatible active RFID tags. The more advanced dual-mode model is ISO 18000-7 and ANSI INCITS 256 compatible. The dual-mode model provides backward compatibility with the three million ANSI INCITS 256 tags in active use in the RF-ITV Network, as well as those used by international militaries. The Savi dual-mode readers are the only readers on the market that can collect data from both ANSI INCITS 256 and ISO 18000-7 protocol tags.
The SR-650 is a fixed reader that tracks items moving through gates and chokepoints or monitors assets within warehouses or yards. The reader then forwards this data to Savi SmartChain Site Manager or other applications using the different SmartChain development platforms.
The SR-650's weatherproofed packaging makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor use. Equipped with an omni-directional antenna, the SR-650 can monitor hundreds of items within its range, which exceeds 300 feet.
Savi Signposts and Signpost-Readers
Savi Signposts work with Savi Readers by triggering RFID tags to report a more precise location up to the Savi Readers. Savi offers small-, medium- and long-range signposts, which all have different spatial ranges in which they can trigger an RFID tag.
Savi Signpost-Readers work just like the Savi Signposts, and they are sold in a similar manner with options for short-, medium- and long-range tag wake-up fields. The difference between a Signpost and a Signpost-Reader is that the Signpost-Reader comes with an embedded Savi Reader, which eases deployments since a separate Savi Reader device is no longer required.
