SaviTags™
SaviTags are Savi's product family of ruggedized active, battery-powered RFID devices built to support dependable and sustainable RFID solutions. SaviTags enable organizations to access real-time information on the location of assets and shipments, as well as their condition and security status. SaviTags have been battle tested globally for nearly two decades, and they are what organizations all around the world rely on to ensure their mission critical supplies reach their destination. Today, SaviTags track hundreds of thousands of shipments per year in more than 45 countries across the global supply chain.
Savi's suite of active RFID tags includes Savi General Asset Tags, Savi High Performance Data-Rich Tags, and Savi Sensor Tags. SaviTags support active RFID interoperability on a worldwide basis through compliance with the international active RFID ISO 18000-7 standard. All SaviTags are HERO and RoHS certified.
All SaviTags support low frequency technology for more precise locating capabilities. Savi's LF solution does this by focusing the tag wake-up field so that tags are not read multiple times, thus conserving tag battery life. Savi's recently improved LF technology comes with longer range and finer distance control, reducing the number of Signposts required per site. Savi's LF Signposts can capture high volumes of assets passing through a chokepoint at speeds up to 60 mph (97 kph). Robust and scalable, Savi's LF solution tracks assets and items throughout the supply chain effectively and automatically.
Below are descriptions of Savi's suite of active RFID tags.
Savi Active RFID Tags
Savi's General Asset Tags and Savi High Performance Data-Rich Tags are built to drive effective and accurate real-time tracking of assets and shipments throughout the global supply chain. Savi's flagship active RFID tag is the ST-654, which features a large database memory (128 Kbytes), 400 feet (122 m) of omni-directional RFID communications range, rugged design, replaceable battery and a variety of mounting options. Savi's other General Asset Tags offer selective features, different levels of database memory and are available in various form factors.
- Savi Tag ST-602: The ST-602 asset tag is Savi's smallest active RFID tag which has a ruggedized form factor and is easy to mount on various assets, including pallets, manufacturing parts and IT equipment. The ST-602 is ideal for tracking containers and their contents within facilities or across geographies.
- Savi Tag ST-616: The ST-616 was designed to be mounted on a smaller class of assets than other RFID tags, including pallets, containers and rolling stock. The ST-616 offers flexible mounting options and features a unique, low-profile form factor that makes the tag less prone to damage.
- Savi Tag ST-618: The ST-618 was designed for tracking assets and carries enough memory to record asset configuration and maintenance records. The ST-618 is ideal for locating, tracking and managing medium- to high-value assets.
- Savi Tag ST-621: The ST-621 license plate tag is designed for quick commissioning and is ideal for tracking shipping containers, rolling stock and other conveyances.
- Savi Tag ST-654: The ST-654 is a high-performance, data-rich asset tag suited for various applications, including the tracking of shipment containers, vehicles and other large assets. The ST-654 can hold a variety of data, from simple IDs linked to a server database, to detailed shipment manifests.
- Savi Sensor Tag ST-656-I: This tag consists of a high-performance, active RFID device that aids in tracking an ISO container during transportation through the global supply chain. The ST-656-I is a new approach to container door tags, enhancing the security offerings — it is a door-mounted device that differs from an asset tag in its placement on cargo shipping containers. The ST-656-I is placed on the left door of an ISO compliant container and held in place by its own spring clamp design.
Savi Sensor Tags
Savi Sensor Tags are ideal for real-time tracking and environmental monitoring of sensitive, perishable items such as medical supplies, ammunition and food. Savi Sensor Tags feature sensors that monitor and record environmental status data to an event log in the tag's memory. If the collected data rises above or falls below the user-configured range, the tag sends a real-time alarm to an RFID reader, and the alarm is escalated via cell phone or email notification, allowing personnel to either address the situation or enact contingency plans for replacing the damaged goods.
All Savi Sensor Tags feature temperature and humidity sensors. The Savi Sensor Tag ST-675 is also equipped with shock, intrusion and light sensors.
- Savi Sensor Tag ST-673: This tag features sensors that monitor and log the temperature and humidity of assets and their contents. The ST-673 is packaged with a metal mounting bracket that allows the tag to be easily fastened to engine containers, vehicles and other metallic assets. With its externally mounted low-profile encasement, the ST-673 is ideal for harsh outdoor environments.
- Savi Sensor Tag ST-674: This tag features sensors that monitor and log the temperature and humidity of assets and their contents. The ST-674 is packaged with a mounting sleeve that allows the tag to be fastened inside plastic, polycarbon, cardboard or wooden totes and containers, or to pallets or racks during transport, or on warehouse shelves and other fixtures during storage.
- Savi Sensor Tag ST-675: This container security tag comes equipped with temperature, humidity, shock, intrusion and light sensors. The intrusion and light sensors detect potential theft or tampering. The ST-675's unique C-clamp door-mount design places the sensitive RFID components inside the shipping container. Only the low-profile, external antenna casing is on the outside of the container, which significantly reduces the risk of tag damage.
