Savi SmartChain® Edge Applications and Devices
SmartChain Edge Applications and Devices are software and hardware systems that on-the-ground personnel use to interact with assets and shipments. SmartChain Edge Applications and Devices are the link for SmartChain to capture operational events in the field such as attaching a tag to an asset, shipping an asset or consolidating a shipment.
SmartChain Edge Applications and Devices enable organizations to improve shipment and asset management through real-time tracking of movements and handlings via RFID, bar code and sensors.
The software edge applications provide full data management capabilities on ruggedized mobile devices and workstation PCs. Both software applications share an intuitive, task-based menu structure with user interfaces tailored to AIT-enabled logistics business processes.
The ruggedized Savi Handheld Reader Kits can scan and process data from active RFID tags (ISO 18000-7 and ANSI INCITS 256 compatible) and bar code (standard linear, matrix, 1D and 2D bar codes).
The offering is designed to help users quickly locate, identify and track supply chain assets in austere environments.
All supported mobile devices are designed for rugged environments and feature a Savi Softcase. The Savi Softcase provides an additional layer of protection and holds the Savi Mobile Reader (SMR-650).
The kits all feature an SMR-650, which is an integrated mobile, low-profile, lightweight reader module used to commission, identify and configure Savi active RFID tags. Savi readers are a key component of RFID solutions for real-time, end-to-end visibility of goods and critical assets moving through the supply chain. Savi Mobile Readers provide greater flexibility to locate specific items and augment Savi Fixed Reader coverage with the operational flexibility provided by portability.
The SMR-650 supports both ISO 18000-7 and ANSI INCITS 256 certified tags. The SMR-650 can communicate with SaviTags from a distance of up to 200 feet.
Savi Mobile Readers may also be purchased separately to work with standard desktop and workstation PCs.
