SAVI TECHNOLOGY GARNERS AWARDS FROM THREE HIGH-TECH MAGAZINES FOR LEADERSHIP IN RFID-BASED SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS

‘M2M,’ ‘ID World’, and ‘Silicon India’ Recognize Savi and its CEO for Leadership in RFID-based Supply Chain Solutions and Services

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Dec. 14, 2006 – Savi Technology, a leading provider of RFID-based supply chain management and security solutions, is the recent recipient of awards from two technology magazines – M2M and Silicon India – and Vic Verma, chief executive officer of the Savi Group, was named by ID World as this year’s winner of its “Limelight Award.”  All three awards were announced over the past two weeks.  Savi Technology is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT].

Following are the awards and their descriptions:

  • M2M Magazine, which covers the machine-to-machine technology marketplace, listed Savi Technology in its annual directory of the top 100 M2M technology and service providers.  .

“These companies are delivering solutions that make it easier to adopt machine-to-machine communications and realize the technology’s enormous business value,” said Michael Jarosik, editor of M2M magazine. Earlier this year, M2M also honored the U.S. Marine Corps with its Gold Value Chain Award for its rapid deployment of the Portable Deployment Kit, a highly mobile “solution in-a-case” developed by Savi Technology that leverages RFID, satellite and other wireless technologies to help soldiers automatically track military supplies in remote field operations.

  • Silicon India selected Savi Technology as one of its Top 100 (si100) successful companies in the United States that were founded and managed by executives originally from India.  Based on input from market analysts, business leaders and venture capitalists, the si100 “represents the continuing rise of entrepreneurship in high-tech but also recognizes companies impacting the market place,” said Harvi Sachar, editor in chief of the magazine.
  • ID World and its sister publication, ID People, announced recently during its fifth ID World International Congress in Milan that Verma won its ID Limelight Award in recognition of public attention to his “groundbreaking ideas on the application potential of automatic identification technologies.”  As the CEO of the newly formed Savi Group, Verma oversees the strategic direction of Savi’s Total Asset Visibility solutions, as well as the Savi Technology and Savi Networks businesses.

The ID People Awards are presented “in recognition of the contribution made by thought leaders, innovators and pioneering adopters who have distinguished themselves by their achievements during the past year,” said Sophie B. de la Giroday, publisher of Wise Media S.p.A., which produces ID World magazine and the ID World International Congress, an annual world summit on automatic identification.
