Savi Handheld Reader Kit
Built on Savi's EchoPoint technology, the Savi Handheld Reader Kit is a lightweight, highly functional RFID kit that allows for the identification and tracking of supply chain assets. It is able to read from and write to Savi’s active, data-rich RFID tags and also can scan and process data from standard linear, matrix, stacked and composite bar codes. The kit is comprised of a Savi SMR-650 Mobile Reader mounted on the Intermec® 751G/A Mobile Computer, packaged in options that provide specific components, based on the needs of the customers.
Savi SMR-650 Mobile Reader - The Savi Mobile Reader is an integrated mobile, low profile, lightweight, battery operated reader module that is used for the purpose of commissioning, identifying and configuring Savi RFID tags. Savi Readers are a key component of RFID solutions for real-time, end-to-end visibility of goods and critical assets moving through the supply chain. Our mobile readers provide greater flexibility to locate specific items and augment Savi Fixed Reader coverage with the operational flexibility provided by portability.
Intermec Mobile Computer - The Intermec® 751G/A Mobile Computer is a special model of Intermec’s powerful 700 Series color mobile computer, available as part of the Savi Handheld Reader Kit, with a full alphanumeric keypad and ergonomic design for a full day’s use in harsh environments. It supports batch 802.11-standard wireless LAN and GSM/GPRS wide-area wireless capabilities, and offers integrated bar code scanning options.
Savi Portable Deployment Kit
The Savi Portable Deployment Kit is a portable RFID system that allows users to quickly set up a mobile chokepoint via the Savi Mobile Reader or a fixed chokepoint with Savi’s SmartChain® Site Manager. Now all container and shipment data can be collected, aggregated, de-aggregated and new ship labels printed at those austere, remote locations - ideal for military, “in-the-field”, and last mile sites.
The Savi PDK is completely portable and contains the laptop, modems, antennas, printer and software needed for remote communication in a self-contained durable carrying case.
The system is fully configurable and operational right out of the box - no additional software configuration is required on-site. Data is collected and communicated to the Savi SmartChain Site Manager, then forwarded to the ITV server via an Iridium Modem with GPS to provide latitude and longitude data to the ITV server. The Savi Portable Deployment Kit can operate unmanned for remote operations. Tags can be scanned onsite with the Savi SMR-650 Mobile Reader. The Savi PDK also includes a Zebra printer for Military Shipment Labels to support Unit Move Changes.
