SmartChain Software Overview

'Savi SmartChain' is the brand name for all of Savi's software products and solutions. SmartChain products play a role at every layer of the Savi Product Pyramid. (See right column image.) Below is a summary of the Savi SmartChain software offering.

Act on it:

As a software solution offering, this is the layer where overall success is defined. Was the raw data harnessed and converted into actionable information in a timely enough manner to improve operations and impact the bottom line?

  • SmartChain Asset Management Application (AMA) helps organizations know where their assets are and how to better utilize them. SmartChain AMA drives value by improving visibility, utilization, inventory levels and operational efficiencies.
  • SmartChain Consignment Management Application (CMA) helps organizations know where their shipments are so they can improve supply chains efficiencies. SmartChain CMA drives value by improving visibility, tightening the Supply Chain Network, reducing inventory stockpiles and improving operational efficiencies. SmartChain CMA also supports international defense forces by supporting certain NATO STANAG standards and MH-10.

Record it:

  • SmartChain Platform rationalizes near real-time data against other enterprise systems of record and then feeds this information up to the SmartChain Applications. SmartChain Platform also supports an adaptive applications framework that allows you to tailor SmartChain Solutions to better meet your organization's needs. The adaptive application framework achieves this by providing customizable reports, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) integration capabilities and an extensible data model.

Collect it:

  • SmartChain Site Manager is deployed to all sites with fixed AIDC infrastructure and provides the capabilities for managing network infrastructure and forwarding near real-time information up to centralized servers like the SmartChain Platform.

Tag it & Read it:

SmartChain tagging operations and mobile read capabilities are supported by the following SmartChain software products.

  • SmartChain I-GUIDES provides turnkey IUID and passive RFID compliance solutions. SmartChain I-GUIDES simplifies compliance while providing full IUID data management as a first step toward total asset visibility.
  • SmartChain Workstation runs on PC Workstations and provides asset and shipment management functionality that mirrors the SmartChain Server Applications. Whether connecting to a network via LAN or satellite, SmartChain Workstation offers an intuitive, task-based solution tailored to enable RFID logistics business processes.
  • SmartChain Mobile has a similar framework to SmartChain Workstation, except SmartChain Mobile runs on mobile, handheld computers.
