GPS and Cellular Connectivity
The Savi Locate Sensor is a low-cost, high performance tracking device designed to monitor worldwide intermodal shipments. Integrated internal antennas use GPS technology to track/monitor cargo. This can be done from either outside or inside most shipping containers. When GPS satellites are obstructed, cell tower triangulation can provide an approximate location, allowing sensors to report in from almost any region of the globe.
Software Integration and Alerting
Savi Locate sensors integrate with Savi Visibility to provide end-to-end supply chain monitoring and tracking. When exceptions to pre-defined threshold conditions occur, sensors send status updates and alerts via cellular networks to Savi Visibility. Sensors are programmed to send updates at varying intervals depending on motion and location to optimize battery life.
Flexibility of OTA Updates
Customers enjoy the flexibility of Savi’s OTA (overthe-air) sensor management capabilities. This enables Savi to change configuration parameters and update configurations on demand. Configurations can be programmed by Savi before shipment or over-the-air once the sensor is deployed in the field. Get reliable data when you need it – updates come as needed to optimize/extend battery life.
Affordable and Durable
When return logistics are not an option, this sensor’s low cost makes it economically feasible as a single-use device. The ruggedness of the sensor, however, also allows for it to be used multiple times. Weatherproof sensors can be attached to the outside of a shipping container, placed within shipping cartons or affixed to a pallet or asset. The sensor is attached using double-sided automotive tape, screws, nylon wire ties or an optional magnetic bracket.
